does filing a motion to reopen your chapter 7 case give you the automatic stay?

Our bankruptcy case was dismissed because we didin’t do the 2nd financial management course. We immediately took the class and filed for a motion to reopen the case. Can bill collectors start collecting immediately? Or, is there a 10 day grace period to give me time to file the motion to reopen? I filed the motion the day after I got the notice that the case was closed. Please help.
