(2 of 2)Schools share art with seniors
Recently, students from St. Philip Catholic Central High School and St. Joseph Middle School gave presentations on Claude Monet and other Impressionist artists to seniors at Reflections Senior Center and Heritage Nursing Home.
The presentations were part of the school’s art clubs and were funded in part by a mini-grant from the Guido a. & Elizabeth H. Binda Foundation, according to a news release from the schools.
Students honored for academics
The following local students have made dean’s lists and honor rolls for academic performance, according to announcements from universities and family members.

Thomas Thurston, of Battle Creek at Pittsburg (Kansas) State University; Christopher Thomas, a 2010 Pennfield High School graduate, at Michigan Technological University; Allison Clark, a 2008 Harper Creek High School graduate, at Ferris State University’s College of Engineering Technology; Battle Creek’s Laura Toth, at Beloit College; Jessie Lillis, of Coldwater, at Ripon College.
